Story:
Stevens County is home to 22 freshly trained, energized leaders. The most recent cohort of Blandin Community Leadership Program, the residents from Hancock and Morris, Minn., spent the last full week in February 2011 focused on their community’s shared assets and honing their leadership skills. They will finish up with workshops in May and July. More than 6,000 rural residents have graduated from BCLP over the past 25 years, and as they all can explain about leadership, “You have to do it yourself, but you can’t do it alone.” Stevens County folks definitely won’t be doing it alone! Still coming this spring…new cohorts from Leech Lake, Red Lake, White Earth, Aitkin Area and Bemidji Area.
