Problem

There are many young people who live on the streets in San Francisco. They have no way to survive without resorting to theft, prostitution, or the drug trade.
Solution

Larkin Street provides the full spectrum of support young people need to achieve their full potential, including emergency and permanent housing, case management, counseling, medical care, education, and employment programs.
Impact

Population Served: In 2005-06, Larkin Street served 2,212 youth through its on-site programs and made thousands of contacts with youth on the streets through the agency’s Street Outreach program. In total, 640 youth accessed residential programs; 1,416 youth accessed drop-in services; and 634 youth enrolled in education or employment training programs.

New Life: 75% of those who enroll in Larkin Street’s comprehensive services find a permanent pathway off the streets.
