Assistant Nonprofit Program Manager

The Assistant Nonprofit Program Manager will support the initiatives and projects within GuideStar’s nonprofit programs division including but not limited to the GuideStar Exchange and Philanthropedia.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Nonprofit Strategy, to support the activities within the GuideStar Exchange, TakeAction, and Social Causes
  • Assist with implementing GuideStar Exchange strategy
  • Attend daily meetings to report on the GuideStar Exchange progress and updates
  • Run and maintain reports to monitor growth of the GuideStar Exchange
  • Draft development stories to support technology builds for the GuideStar Exchange
  • Work with marketing and nonprofit support teams to support email campaigns and website content in order to increase participation in the GuideStar Exchange program
  • Work with our external TakeAction partners to update content on the GuideStar website
  • Research and assist in adding content for inclusion on the Social Causes pages
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Nonprofit Strategy, to support the activities around the Public Report Page
  • Help with implementing GuideStar’s strategy to display GuideStar Exchange data through GuideStar.org
  • Collect content to include on the Public Report Pages
  • Draft development stories to support technology builds for the Public Report Pages
  • Work closely with the Manager, Philanthropedia Research, to assist in Philanthropedia research activities
  • Conduct online research and source experts’ contact information
  • Call experts to encourage their participation
  • Assist in running research surveys and monitoring emails
  • Analyze data and create comprehensive, compelling nonprofit profiles
  • Supervise some of the Philanthropedia research interns
  • Support additional projects and initiatives within the Nonprofit division at GuideStar as necessary
The ideal candidate...
  • Has superb organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Is comfortable working remotely with teams that are located in DC and Williamsburg
  • Has the ability to take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Has excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Has excellent skills in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Has the ability to work well with others and to work well independently
  • Has excellent Internet research capabilities
  • Has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Ideally has nonprofit sector experience
