Philanthropedia Research Assistant
Sector Research to Identify Experts
Position

The key to Philanthropedia’s success is in our ability to identify and recruit hundreds of experts in different social causes to participate in our research. The Research Assistant’s role is to conduct online searches to develop a representative and comprehensive database of approximately 800 experts in each social cause.

Qualifications

Detail oriented, good online searching skills. Ability to plan, set goals, and execute on a plan; proactive and enthusiastic team player, great time management skills, self-starter.

Time Commitment

We are flexible with your schedule. Most of the work can be done remotely but strong and regular communication with the coordinator is required.

Philanthropedia Research Associate
Calling experts, analyzing research results, creating nonprofit profiles, and presenting findings
Position

One of the main ways Philanthropedia encourages experts to participate in our research is by calling experts. Through phone conversations, we highlight the impact of our research and answer any questions they have. One of the Research Associate’s roles is to call hundreds of experts in a social cause to increase the response rate of our research and get the experts excited about our work.

After the survey results come in, the Research Associate will assist in analyzing the results from the survey-- one of the most interesting pieces of work of our methodology. He/she will also assist in formatting the expert responses so that they can be presented online. Finally, he/she will be in charge of creating nonprofit profiles for each recommended top nonprofit by sourcing information from various places online to highlight these organizations on our website.

Qualifications

Outstanding professional communication skills, ability to think on his/her feet to answer questions about Philanthropedia’s research, ability to plan, set goals, and execute on a plan, proactive and enthusiastic team player, great time management skills, a self-starter, detail oriented, proficient in excel, good online searching skills, strong writing skills, and an interest in the nonprofit sector.

Time Commitment

Approximately 30 hours/week for 8 weeks.
