Expertise on Demand

Philanthropedia’s Expertise on Demand connects donors with leading experts in the nonprofit sector, so donors can make a more informed giving decision.
Expertise on Demand is a new Philanthropedia service that acts as a trusted intermediary connecting major donors, philanthropy advisors, and foundations with experts who can help fill knowledge gaps quickly and efficiently and channel more money to high-impact nonprofits and projects.
Donors use this service by filling in a brief form with the question they would like to ask an expert. Philanthropedia then searches its database of thousands of experts to find a good match, ultimately connecting the donor with the expert via a phone call.

Who is this service for and how would they use it?

This service has been developed for donors (individual or institutions) and their philanthropic advisors. A donor may contact us because they want to learn more about a charitable cause they care about as they decide where to make a donation.

How much does this service cost?

The Expertise on Demand beta is free. In return, users are asked to complete a brief evaluation form at the end. Users may ask up to 5 question per quarter.

What is the benefit for an expert to participate?

By participating in our expert network, experts have the opportunity to interact with donors of all levels, and therefore have the potential to influence the flow of donations in their sector.

What is the expectation for an expert to participate?

As a general policy, we will not contact an expert more than once per month with a request for a 30 minute phone call with a donor. However, the expert can request to be contacted more or less frequently. Experts always have the right to decline a request for a meeting.

Are the experts paid?

Our experts have generously agreed to volunteer their time.
