In our microfinance research, we tried to identify experts on the topic from around the world who would be knowledgeable about, ideally, the "entire universe of microfinance orgs" as you put it. The results of our research show which nonprofits were most frequently recommended as outstanding by the experts. While we cannot claim that our experts considered every possible microfinance organization, we do feel confident that the experts in our network strongly recommend these organizations as real leaders doing outstanding work.
